Music for Burns’ Night

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Burns’ Night is celebrated annually in Scotland on or around January 25th to commemorate the life of the bard Robert Burns, who was born on this day in 1759 and celebrate his contribution to Scottish culture. Burns was one of the most prolific song writers and song collectors of all time. Here are just some of his songs from the library catalogue.

One of his songs appears in The Musical Bijou, published in 1846 and part of our Finn O’Lochlainn Collection Here are some images of “Come let me take thee to my brest” from this lovely book.
