Summer Opening Hours in the Music & Drama Library

Pedagogical Piano Music by John McLachlan

John McLachlan has recently donated to DIT’s Music and Drama Library a number of scores of pedagogical piano music composed by himself. John McLachlan has previously studied music at the DIT Conservatory of Music, as well as the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Trinity College Dublin, and is now a well-known writer, broadcaster as well as composer. You can see a profile of further information about Mr. McLachlan on this Contemporary Music Centre webpage.

The Music and Drama Library appreciates his kind donation to us. Especially as these scores are pedagogical, graded pieces, and so should be quite useful to the Conservatory / Library patrons.

These scores are now available for borrowing by DIT staff and students:

Lighter and darker: 5 repertoire pieces for piano learners grades 5 and higher

First flights: 14 playful pieces for piano beginners

Further flights: 15 playful pieces for piano learners grades 1 to 5.
